One of the coolest features that have been added to drones in the past couple of years is the ‘Follow Me” feature.
Most follow-me drones can remain still and track the subject by rotating, or it can even move with the subject. Pretty cool, right?
With that being said, here are the cheapest drones on the market that have the added bonus of this awesome feature! I’ve also taken the liberty of ranking them from cheapest to most expensive.

There’s one thing beginner pilots don’t want to deal with, and it’s registering a drone with the FAA. But thanks to Hubsan, you don’t have to, the Hubsan X4 H502S is an amazing little drone that is under the FAA’s 0.55lbs.
The H501S is equipped with multidirectional obstacle avoidance to assist beginner pilots.
The drone also is equipped with a brilliant follow-me feature that allows pilots to take selfies and videos without controlling the drone.

2. Holy Stone F181C RC
The F181C RC is a small and versatile quadcopter that’s great for beginners who are just getting into the drone game and also reasonably priced.
It is a great package that includes some great stats that you would typically find in drones that are priced a lot higher than this one!
Camera: The drone takes very good 2MP stills and the brilliant 720p video footage will surely keep you in the sky.
A 6 axis gyroscope stabilization stabilizes the drone’s camera. This ensures that the footage taken on the drone is steady and clear.
Flight Time: The F181C will give you 8 minutes of flight time.
Range: The drone will fly 328 feet away from the control. It certainly outperforms a lot of drones in its price range!

3. Ryze Tello
The Ryze Tello drone is made with DJI spare parts, uses DJI tech, and is sold on the DJI website. But, it has undoubtedly made a name for itself in the drone community, and is a fantastic piece of tech!
Camera: The Tello has a crisp 720p camera, allowing you to capture some excellent footage for a drone of its price range.
Flight Time: The Tello can stay in the sky for a total of 13-minutes before needing to come back for a recharge.
Price: The price of this drone is $99, and if you consider the fact that you are basically getting a DJI quality drone for that price, its a steal.
Other features: The drone does not have GPS, but it is still able to have obstacle avoidance and a basic follow me feature.
Even though the drone costs less than $100, Ryze took their time to create a genuinely amazing drone for beginners and people looking for a cheap drone.

4. Holy Stone 110D
Holy Stone is truly a force to be reckoned with when talking about the top cheap drones on the market, as they really know how to make a good drone but keep the price down.
The HS110D is undoubtedly one of the best drones to come out of the Holy Stone factory. The follow-me feature will really allow you to take advantage of the drone’s HD video camera.
Weight: The Holy Stone only weighs 145 grams, and this really helps beginner pilots avoid registering the drone with the FAA.
Flight time: This drone will give you a total of 13 minutes of flight time, which isn’t great but certainly better than most.
Range: You can fly the drone 950 feet away from the controller.
Camera quality: The 1080p HD video quality camera has a field of view of 110°, and will certainly be good for anyone looking to really improve their videography skills.
More features: The drone has a pretty cool feature. With one click of the button, the drone will do a cool little flip. This will definitely entertain any kid for a long time!
Price: It has a cost price of $130.
Ages: This drone is a simple one and should be used by either young children or any adults wanting training wheels before their actual purchase.

5. Potensic T25
The Potensic T25 is one of the best drones for beginners. The drone comes with many advanced features. It has two intelligent flight modes that will make it easier for beginners to fly and take videos with this drone.
It has an FPV feature that allows the pilot to live stream straight to their smartphone. You can also share the video and images taken with the drone on social media.
The design of the T25 resembles the design of the DJI Phantom 4 Pro. This wasn’t a coincidence, the Phantom is one of the most popular drones on the market, but sadly it is pretty expensive and targeted at professional photographers.
Potensic has created the T25 so that beginner pilots and pilots on a budget can have a ‘Phanom 4’ of their own.

6. EACHINE E511
Eachine E511 has some amazing features, but most importantly the drone is cheap which makes it perfect for beginner pilots. The drone even has a couple of features that drones in its price range don’t usually possess.
The drone is designed to be extremely portable. The drone can be folded down nicely so that it is stored nicely in a suitcase or backpack. This makes it perfect for travel.
The E511 also allows you to switch to FPV goggles.
The drone has both obstacle avoidance and a follow-me feature, which comes in handy for hands-free videography and photography.
Camera: The E511 has a 720p camera, and 6-Axis Gyroscope, which stabilizes all the footage. This is great to play around with when you take advantage of the 360° roll. This feature gives a cool action shot a little extra something!
Price: This drone will cost you $139, so it’s a steal for the quality you get.

7. Holy Stone HS100
Holy Stone is known for making some of the best toy drones on the market, but the drones they make are so good I wouldn’t even consider them toys, even though the prices say otherwise.
The HS100 is one of the best beginner-friendly drones on the market.
The drone has a cool return to home feature that will help new drone pilots if things go wrong. It also has a follow me feature which is not a common occurrence in toy drones.
All these features combine to make a simplistic, yet highly functional drone.
Camera Quality: The Holy Stone HS100 camera is attached to the bottom of the drone, which limits the angles you can take pictures in.
However, the camera is a 2K HD camera, which is hard to find on a drone of this price. The drone also has a 1-axis gimbal attached to it, which helps with stabilizing camera footage.
Flight Time: The drone can stay in the air for a solid 18 minutes of flight time.
Price: The HS100 is a cheap drone that costs only $149.

8. SYMA X8 PRO
Thanks to having a built-in GPS, the Syma X8 Pro is as stable as a beginner drone can get. It can even remain stable in the air even if the wind picks up.
The Syma X8 is a popular drone because it is durable and versatile, but most importantly, easy to fly. The fact that it is easy to fly, makes it perfect for beginner pilots.
Camera: The Syma X8 has a 720p HD camera, with the ability to change the angle. The feed from the drone is also streamed straight to the smartphone the pilot is using.
This camera is mounted on a one-axis gimbal that is put in place to steady the camera.
Special Features: The Syma X8 has a couple of unique features that set it apart from the other drones in its price range.
- Follow Me – The follow-me feature is not one you will usually find in cheaper drones. It allows the Syma to track the person holding and keep them in the shot at all times.
- Orbiting – The Orbit feature makes the Syma drone fly around the person piloting the drone or holding the controller. This makes for some fantastic shots and exciting angles.
- Flight Plan – The Syma Fly app allows the pilot to plot a flight plan in the application, and the drone will fly to that location automatically.
Price: The drone is available on a number of online stores including Amazon, for $189.
Range: The drone is able to travel 70 meters before needing to return home for a recharge.

9. Wingsland S6
The Wingsland S6 is one of the best low budget obstacle avoidance drones on the market.
It has infrared detectors on the drone that can calculate and avoid external obstacles from the left, right, front, back, and upside. If you are new to droning this will allow you to go on flights without worrying about obstacles.
Camera: The Wingsland S6 is equipped with a 4K HD camera, which is very impressive if you consider its price.
This is stable because it is assisted by a 3-axis gimbal keeping all that footage smooth and steady.
Price: The S6 is one of the only foldable drones that can compete with the DJI Spark, and will only cost you $250.
Flight Time: Sadly, you will only be able to use the 4K camera for 8-10 minutes of flight, but obviously, the drone wouldn’t be perfect for this price.

10. Ruko F11
DJI is arguably the best drone manufacturer in the world, but its premium drones come with a premium price tag.
Ruko is a smaller company that isn’t really known, but its F11 drone is priced right in the middle of the competitive drone spectrum. This means that they are in the perfect spot to offer the drone world a good drone that is cheaper than a DJI but still of higher quality than a toy drone.
This drone ticks all the boxes, making a perfect drone for both the experienced and beginner drone users!
Camera: The Ruko takes crisp 4K photos and 2.9K videos, which is pretty impressive if you ask me.
Flight Time: The drone will also give you an astonishing 30 mins of flight time!
Price: The Ruko isn’t the cheapest drone but it is only $280, which is a steal for a drone of its quality.

11. YUNEEC BREEZE
The Yuneec Breeze has been on the market for quite some time now, but despite that fact, it still offers exceptional value for money.
The drone has many different features, which is surprising considering how old it is.
These modes include:
- Follow Me – This feature will allow the Breeze to follow whoever is holding the controller of the drone.
- Selfie – This allows the drone to remain steady and hover while you take cool aerial selfies.
- Orbit – This feature makes the Breeze fly around the pilot or the person holding the controller.
Along with these features that require GPS, the drone’s GPS also allows the pilot to program a route into the app, and the drone will follow that route.
If you are a beginner looking for a start into the drone world, then I highly recommend the Yuneec Breeze.
Price: The drone isn’t the cheapest on this list, but at $500, it is undoubtedly less expensive than other drones of its caliber.
